Kole Carter

Performance Coach

As a Performance Coach at AP, Kole draws on his background as a three-sport athlete, his collegiate playing experience, his work recruiting and developing college-level talent, and years of head-coaching responsibility to help young athletes build the strength, speed, and mindset needed to compete at a high level.

Kole also currently serves as Associate Head Coach and Director of Recruiting at the University of Rio Grande, where he joined the staff in January 2026 after two seasons as the Head Football Coach at Brunswick High School. Before Brunswick, he was the Head Coach at Gallia Academyhis alma mater — where he posted an 18-6 record and established himself as one of southeastern Ohio’s most promising young football minds.

Kole’s playing career took him from Morehead State University to Capital University, where he earned 2x All-OAC as a linebacker and Academic All-OAC honors.

A Gallipolis, Ohio native, Kole was a three-sport athlete at Gallia Academy, competing in football, basketball, and baseball. He earned all-state recognition in football, along with all-district honors in all three sports, before taking his game to the collegiate level.

Austin Osborne

Performance Coach

As a Performance Coach at AP since 2014, Austin draws on his background as a collegiate linebacker and team captain for Ohio Dominican University, his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and more than a decade of relationship with AP Prep itself to help young athletes build the strength, resilience, and attention to detail needed to compete at a high level. Austin first started training with AP's founder, Jason Prater, at age 14 — a long-standing connection that gives him a unique perspective on developing athletes from the ground up.

In his own words: "My coaching style is to focus on the details. I watch the small things, therefore the large things will fall into place."

Alongside his work at AP, Austin is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy with experience in home health and skilled nursing facilities. He also serves as a Performance Coach Rep for AP's adjacent software company, Weight Room Coach, where he helps coaches and advanced PE instructors structure and simplify strength and conditioning programs for their student-athletes.

Austin earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marshall University in 2021 after completing his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at Ohio Dominican University, where he played linebacker on scholarship and served as a team captain for the Panthers.

A Jackson, Ohio native, Austin was a standout at Jackson High School before taking his game to the collegiate level.

Jason Prater

Performance Coach

As a Performance Coach at AP, Kole draws on his background as a three-sport athlete, his collegiate playing experience, his work recruiting and developing college-level talent, and years of head-coaching responsibility to help young athletes build the strength, speed, and mindset needed to compete at a high level.


Kole also currently serves as Defensive Coordinator and Director of Recruiting at the University of Rio Grande, where he joined the staff in January 2026 after two seasons as the Head Football Coach at Brunswick High School. Preston Sykes

Performance Coach

Preston Sykes | Performance Coach
As a Performance Coach at AP, Preston draws on his background as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), his experience coaching at the collegiate level, and his career as a multi-sport collegiate and high school athlete to help young athletes develop the strength, speed, and discipline needed to compete at the next level.


Preston also currently serves as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Indiana Wesleyan University, where he works with student-athletes across the Wildcats' athletic department. He serves as a Performance Coach Rep for AP's adjacent software company, Weight Room Coach, where he helps coaches and advanced PE instructors structure and simplify strength and conditioning programs for their student-athletes.


Preston earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Indiana Wesleyan University, where he played defensive back and was named team captain for the Wildcats football program. As a junior in 2024, he was named All-MSFA Mideast First Team and recognized as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
A Frankfort, Ohio native, Preston was a standout dual-threat quarterback and defensive back at Adena High School, where he led the Warriors to their first Scioto Valley Conference title and Gold Ball since 2010. As a senior, he was named First Team All-Ohio, Division IV Southeast District Player of the Year, and SVC Defensive Back of the Year, while also helping the Adena basketball program capture its first district title in decades.

Carly Adkins

Performance Coach

Matt Humphreys

Performance Coach

As a Performance Coach at AP, Matt draws on his experience playing football at both the NCAA Division I and NCFA national championship levels to help young athletes develop the strength, speed, and disciplined work habits needed to compete at the next level. Matt also has extensive knowledge in D-line and trench coaching, providing specialized classes at AP in this area of expertise. He has lived the journey his athletes are working toward — and he brings that firsthand perspective into every training session.

Matt most recently played defensive end for Ohio State Club Football, where he helped lead the Buckeyes to the 2024 NCFA National Championship and earned NCFA Defensive Most Valuable Player honors — becoming the first Buckeye in league history to win the award.
Before Ohio State, Matt played NCAA Division I football at Robert Morris University as a defensive end.

A Jackson, Ohio native, Matt was a team captain at Jackson High School, where he started for the Ironmen as both a middle linebacker and defensive end. He was one of the cornerstones of a program that made consistent appearances in the OHSAA state playoffs.

Ty McBee
